European Heritage Days

Mark your calendars!   Leo Marchutz will be the focus of a series of events held  in the picturesque village of Saint Marc Jaumegarde, during the European Heritage Days 2021.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th 
Free Concert (8:00 PM)
“A Musical Portrait of Leo Marchutz”
Composed by Marc-Olivier Dupin, interpreted by the Wind Quintet of Marseille, this moving production celebrates the life and artistic destiny of the painter and lithographer Leo Marchutz. It includes a live narrative by French actor Benoît Marchand, as well as a simultaneous projection of the artwork.

Open House (2:00 – 6:00 PM)
The Chapel of Saint Marc Jaumegarde will be open to the public with guided tours of the permanent exhibition of large-format paintings by Leo Marchutz.

Conference ( 6.00 PM)
“Léo Marchutz, his life, his work, and his relationship with Saint Marc Jaumegarde”.  Antony Marchutz will tell the story of his father, German-born painter who moved to Provence in the early 1930’s to study the motifs of Paul Cézanne. The conference includes the projection of a selection of works and photographs.
